Federal Court Disconnects Site that Streamed Broadcast TV
It's considered a key win for TV broadcasters. A federal court pulled the plug on a Seattle-based startup company called ivi. For $4.99 a month you could download there ivi TV player and then watch broadcast TV from stations in Seattle, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The company has been sued for copyright infringement by the big broadcast networks, local station in New York and Seattle, as well as by public broadcasters, several large movie studios, and Major League Baseball. Ivi had no immediate comment. All we on the Morning Buzz can say is how dumb can you be, of course this is not ok, how could you not know that what you were doing was illegal.
